The Challenge

This Texas-based FMCG client had one of the world's largest water-harvesting facilities and a sustainable approach to water harvesting — but their DR was just 8 and they were effectively invisible online. They needed high-quality Digital PR backlinks on a limited budget.

This project was executed through our white-label partnership with DigiTech Web Design Agency (Austin, TX), led by Darryl Stevens. We provided specialized HARO outreach and digital PR strategy while DigiTech managed the overall client relationship.

Our 3-Step HARO Process

We selected queries and websites based on criteria agreed upon with the client, manually crafted personalized pitches as the client's PR representative, and the client received backlinks from top publications.

01

Query Curation

Carefully selected HARO queries from journalists seeking expert commentary relevant to sustainability, water, FMCG, and consumer goods — rejecting anything misaligned.

02

Personalized Pitching

Manually crafted pitches for each query — no templates, no automation — resulting in a high acceptance rate from journalists who typically ignore mass outreach.

03

Authority Placement

Earned high-authority natural backlinks and citations from publications including MSN and Yahoo, with DR scores well above industry average.

The Results

DR uses a logarithmic 0–100 scale, so 8→43 is exponentially harder than the numbers suggest. Each point becomes progressively more difficult — making this a 437% increase in just 6 months particularly impressive on a limited budget.

Short for a new company starting at DR 8 — most businesses take a year or more for this level of growth.
